Summary

I lead design on the creation of an app for psychologists

Context

Problem

Parents of autistic children seek for professionals to teach their children social abilities to live in society because their lack of such abilities tends to make them suffer bullying and isolation.

Psychologists like Paula (see persona) teach social abilities to autistic children. She creates a program with social ability training based on individual needs, applies the program to her students (that's how she calls her patients), and track their evolution. She uses paper to register the training sessions.

It's hard for the psychologist keeps track of his/her patients’ activities and progress. For parents, it's hard to see their children's results and evolution.

Goals

Create an app where the psychologist can manage his/her students, create training programs for them, apply and register training sessions, keep track of their progress, and share evolution reports with their parents.

Interactive prototypes

Login and Psychologist profile

Before starting the training the psychologist is presented with general instructions that remind him/her of the main goal of such exercises.

Add student

The psychologist is able to add students

Add training program

Allowing the psychologist to create a training program by selecting pre-defined training will make this process fast.

Apply training

Before starting the training the psychologist is presented with general instructions that remind him/her of the main goal of such exercises.

Share student's progress

An easy way to summarize the students' progress was to use simple bar charts in a card that can be shared with students' parents
